Michelle Zweck and Janelle Hynd

Director & Rock Star!

I have been a Director of MJL People Dynamics since 2001.

What I like about my job is working with a client and seeing them achieve what they set out to do. Also when a participant says after a workshop “I thought this was going to be boring but it wasn’t.” It is also great when you see the light go on in someone when they have an AHA! moment.

My goal is to pass on to people information on the content of topics, but ultimately I hope people go away with the realisation that they have some more choices about how they can act and be.

After completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences at Flinders University I joined the Commonwealth Public Service in the Department of Defence. I worked in a number of departments mainly in the Human resources area and progressed through a number of supervisor and management positions. I was the Director of CommNet SA in my final years in the Public Service. This was a self funded consultancy unit providing Organisation Development services to Commonwealth agencies, their Chief Executives and staff.

My skills have been developed over the last 20 years through lots of experience and also through professional development. This includes gaining a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Master Class in facilitation through the Melbourne Business School and in New York, Singapore and London, with my colleague Janelle, attending learning events around Strategic Thinking, Organisational Development and Humour in the Workplace. I am accredited in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (Steps I & II), Team Management Systems (since 1990), Situational Leadership II® and What Makes People Tick?

Why Rock Star? I have been singing since I can remember and wanted to be like Cilla Black (English 60’s diva). I sang in the school musical and with bands through church groups. I joined Flinders and Adelaide university choirs whilst at uni and progressed to learning classical singing. I sang with the State Opera for 5 years in the 1990’s – Carmen, Turandot, the Magic Flute, La Traviata to name a few. Rock and pop music are my first loves however! My work provides lots of opportunities for performance and on rare occasions might include singing. Music is always present in the workshops MJL delivers.

A big passion is travel. I love the cities – London, New York, Paris, Shanghai! I also love photography and reading. A couple of times a year I donate my time to run quiz nights for local organisations.
